Austin Knight Flies

Austin Knight Flies are hand tied & tested by Austin James Knight along the Texas coast in North Padre Island. Austin's formative years as a child were spent exploring the local tanks, creeks & rivers around central Texas chasing anything that swam. This created an undeniable fascination with small invertebrates and fish that still drives him today.

That fascination became a profession. Austin's career as a Certified Wildlife Biologist has taken him into the field on projects spanning wildlife management, habitat restoration, herpetology, and conservation — including work on Houston toad recovery and Texas horned lizard reintroduction. He brings the same trained eye for natural form, behavior, and anatomy to every fly he ties.

So often the true beauty found in the lines and forms in nature are overlooked. Austin Knight has always sought to bring that beauty and wonderment to light — and each Austin Knight Fly is not only a fly, but a work of art from a true student of the trade.
